It is officially daylight savings and the sun is starting to go down at 430pm. No joke. Which can lead you to feeling down, lazy or even unmotivated. I find during the winter I stay cooped up in my place and don’t really leave which is okay to do occasionally but, for obvious reasons, you can’t do for long periods of time.
I’ve come up with a few things to try and fight feeling down or sad during daylight savings.
Salt Rock Lamp
This is a tip I got from “The Skinny Confidential”. She goes into depth on her post here but I love having this in my living room on watching TV. A few benefits of a salt rock lamp include mood enhancement, cleanse and deodorize the air, boosting blood flow & raising energy levels. Here are other benefits of the lamp.
Get cozy & embrace it.
Remember I said it’s fine to have days in to relax? Take advantage of nights where you’re feeling like staying in. Throw on some cozy socks, a face mask & snuggle in for the night. I’ll be doing it with Luna & Love Island.
Get out of your place
I know this isn’t an option for everyone but walk your dog (unless it’s crazy icy out), head to a coffee shop or go out to grab a nice dinner. It can boost your mood SO much to just get out for an hour.
Stay busy!
Instead of laying in bed try to do some things around the house and stay moving. Go to the gym, fold some laundry or catch up on my vlogs *hehe*.
Buy yourself flowers
This is something I did for myself yesterday. It brightened up my mood and made me so happy when I saw them when I got home!
Those are a few things I do to try and stay upbeat and happy throughout the season. I know they are small things but they really help to boost my mood and help me relax. Let me know some of your tricks below!
S H O P T H E P O S T
Hello hello and welcome to my world. What does the world of Keri Hill contain? It’s one with a lot of McDonalds nuggets, luxury shopping and my French bulldog, Luna. It’s a world where I share with you my favorite healthy snacks in a post but then an hour later you see me eating pasta and french fries on my snapchat (it’s all about balance.) It’s a world where I post a few times a week about lifestyle, home decor, fitness and beauty. It’s a world that I hope you’ll be a part of and look forward to escaping yours to come to.
