4 things you need to add into your morning routine

Hello all of you! I hope you’re having a great week. It’s finally warming up here in Chicago and spring has sprung, baby! I’m starting to get so excited for the summer in Chicago and spend time by the pool in my new place. With the warm weather comes a better mood. I feel like I’m totally one of those people that get so tired and feel down during the wintertime so I’m so ready for the summer and coming home to sunshine after work instead of the sun already halfway down.

I’m all settled into my new place and have really been trying to get a routine down in the morning. I’m that type of person that will wake up at 7:30 and need to leave for work at 7:50. Like it’s a problem. So I have been trying to wake up earlier and doing some things to jumpstart my day in a positive way.

+ My biggest thing is that I don’t check my phone for 30 minutes (unless I wake up 20 minutes before I need to leave, lol). In the mornings I walk my dog, Luna and I do bring my phone but I stay away from my e-mail and social media. I don’t want to wake up with bad new or something negative to put me in a bad mood so instead I grab a coffee, walk my Frenchie and enjoy the city.

+ I also like to do a small chore. Whether it’s emptying the dishwasher from the night before, wiping down the counters, or folding laundry I try to do something productive to get something done and also set the tone for the day. I feel like it keeps me productive all day and allows me to come home to a clean place at the end of the day.

+ I also like to set a goal for the day. Mine are usually drink enough water, pay a bill, or plan meals for the week. You can make it really simple but it just gives you a little motivation for the day. And crossing something off a checklist is the most amazing feeling ever.

+ Hydrate! I try and drink a full bottle of water before I leave for work and especially before I drink my coffee. I always have one full and ready to go in my fridge so I can just grab it and go in the morning.

So those are just a few things you should try and do in the morning. Once I get more of a routine down I will absolutely share a me and Luna’s morning routine. Let me know what you have do to in the morning.
